North Park is home to Allegheny County's largest public park. It's where friends meet to run, picnic, bike, swim and kayak, among many others fun things to do! I created this map to convey a whimsical and colorful depiction from everything such as the ice skating rink to the golf course.
I did extensive research to make it not only a work of art, but also a functional map to locate areas of interest. I’ve explored North Park’s trails, swam in its biggest pool while training for a triathlon, rode my bike for many miles, and ran around the lake and beyond a zillion times!
This map started out as a gift to all my wonderful running friends, but evolved into something so much more.
I enjoyed discovering all the countless reasons why it is so special to me, from the deer to the Great Blue Herons that I see while kayaking, to the many friendly people like park rangers that keep North Park a special “playground” for all to treasure.
