If you are from Pittsburgh, you know that this section of the city is a steep hillside filled with a cluster full of crazy houses stacked on top of each other — seriously... and oh those steps! This was a passion project that I've always wanted to draw, adding a twist of whimsy to it. I created this piece by first sketching out the fine details of all the houses, trees, occasional PAT transit bus, a happy sun, along with guys hanging on top of a roof! From there I started applying my magic to make the drawing come to life with pen and ink on cold press illustration board.
